Christopher Davis

A   native of Washington, D.C., has been a professional artist since 1979,  it was  during this time that  he established Davis Studio.  He has been interested in art since his early childhood and formally studied Fine Art at North Carolina A&T State University.   Davis acknowledge that his talent is a gift from God.  Having grown up in the South, he gained an appreciation and love for painting landscapes of rural areas and nature scenes.  Although Davis prefers oils, he has created many works in watercolors as well.  Realism would be an apt description of his style along with his great attention to detail which brings the viewer into each work of art.  His work hangs in many private homes and businesses throughout the United States.  It is this artist’s challenge and hope to continue to produce works which bring to life images that will prove to be timeless as well as bring pleasure to the viewer.

Artist's Statement

"My approach to painting is to create some images, which relate to some of my life experience as an Artist.  In my paintings I am trying to expound upon something that is important to me and perhaps society.  I just try to make my work appear as realistic as possible, whether its an image of a landscape, human form or still-life.  I generally like to listen to music as I work,  and have a great appreciation for all types especially Classical,  Gospel and Jazz.  It helps me to stay focused as well as keep me in the mood.  As an artist, the excitement of creating a painting never leaves me once I've begun.  I can mentally see what the painting will actually look like, before its a finished work of art.  My work basically is a reflection of the present, past and future.  I hope that as people view my work that they will be inspired to make a purchase."
